Abstract: We analyzed Hong Kong stock buyback activity for the week ended May 1st, based on HKEx daily reports. Total buybacks amounted to HKD 2,379 million across 80 companies, a 15.4% decline from HKD 2,812 million the prior week, while the number of participating companies rose 8.1% week-on-week. The top three repurchasers were AIA (1299 HK) at HKD 680.8 million, China Hongqiao (1378 HK) at HKD 383.3 million, and Xiaomi (1810 HK) at HKD 340.5 million. A notable small-cap mover was Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric (3898 HK), which repurchased HKD 247 million representing 1.45% of shares outstanding. Over the trailing 30 days, AIA led with HKD 4,354 million in buybacks, followed by Tencent (700 HK) at HKD 2,603 million and Xiaomi at HKD 2,354 million, with total 30-day market buybacks reaching HKD 13,121 million across 109 companies.
