Abstract: We analyzed Hong Kong Exchange buyback data for the week ended May 15th, covering 77 companies with total repurchases of HKD 4,262 million, up 41.9% from HKD 3,003 million the prior week. The top three repurchasers over the past 7 days were China Hongqiao (1378 HK) at HKD 1,876.7 million (0.57% of shares outstanding), AIA (1299 HK) at HKD 975.2 million (0.11% of shares outstanding), and Geely Automobile (175 HK) at HKD 222.9 million (0.10% of shares outstanding). Over the past 30 days, AIA led with HKD 4,189.9 million in buybacks, followed by China Hongqiao at HKD 3,462.8 million and Xiaomi (1810 HK) at HKD 1,491.1 million, with 110 companies collectively repurchasing HKD 13,553 million. East Buy (1797 HK) also featured in the weekly top 10 with HKD 87 million in repurchases across 4 days, its first buyback activity in over four weeks.
