Abstract: We analyzed the HK SFC aggregate short position report as of Jun 5th, covering equity short interest across the Hong Kong market. The aggregate short value decreased by $764m (-0.6%) week-on-week and by $4,680m (-3.3%) over the preceding four weeks, with short covering dominant across most large caps. The largest short increases over one week were in Tencent (700 HK) at +$628m (+24.6%), Alibaba (9988 HK) at +$276m (+17.0%), Catl (3750 HK) at +$253m (+8.5%), and CCB (939 HK) at +$229m (+20.7%). The largest short covers over one week were in AIA (1299 HK) at -$257m (-15.3%), Sun Hung Kai Properties (16 HK) at -$232m (-17.5%), Sunny Optical (2382 HK) at -$209m (-13.6%), and Yangtze Optical Fibre And-H (6869 HK) at -$208m (-23.2%).
