HK Short Interest Weekly: Lenovo, CCB, Tencent, Catl, Alibaba, Kingboard Laminates, AIA, Wharf

Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of May 29th. The aggregate short value for equities decreased by $1,240m (-0.9%) week-on-week but increased by $2,316m (+1.7%) over the preceding four weeks. On the short increase side, Lenovo (992 HK) was the standout mover, rising $994m (+35.8%) over one week and $1,800m (+91.2%) over four weeks, followed by Catl (3750 HK) up $560m (+23.2%) on the week, Kingboard Laminates (1888 HK) up $306m (+65.4%), and AIA (1299 HK) up $215m (+14.7%). On the cover side, CCB (939 HK) saw the largest short reduction at -$723m (-39.5%) for the week, followed by Tencent (700 HK) at -$612m (-19.4%), Alibaba (9988 HK) at -$437m (-21.2%), and Wharf (4 HK) at -$158m (-69.1%).
