HK Short Interest Weekly: Tencent, Kingboard Laminates, China Resources Land, Ntes, Meituan

Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of Jun 12th, covering one-week and four-week changes across Hong Kong-listed equities. The aggregate short value increased by $520m (+0.4%) week-over-week but decreased by $2,264m (-1.6%) over the preceding four weeks. The largest short positions by value were held in Ping An ($8,025m), Xiaomi ($5,270m), and Pop Mart International ($3,794m). On the short increase side, Tencent (700 HK) led with a $513m (+16.2%) weekly rise, followed by Kingboard Laminates (1888 HK, +$327m, +49.4%), China Resources Land (1109 HK, +$223m, +31.9%), NetEase (9999 HK, +$190m, +24.2%), and Kingboard (148 HK, +$160m, +135.4%). The largest short covers for the week were in Lenovo (992 HK, -$388m, -10.5%), Zijin Mining (2899 HK, -$222m, -7.2%), Sunny Optical (2382 HK, -$220m, -16.5%), and Meituan (3690 HK, -$178m, -7.9%). Over four weeks, Lenovo (+$1,264m, +61.6%) and Catl (+$812m, +34.6%) saw the largest short buildups, while Xiaomi (-$682m, -11.5%) and Zijin Mining (-$605m, -17.4%) led the four-week short cover.
