Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of Apr 24th. Aggregate short value for equities increased by $1,849m (+1.4%) week-over-week and by $6,867m (+5.3%) over the preceding four weeks. The largest short increases over the past week were led by Hua Hong Semiconductor (+$265m, +48.3%), Kuaishou (+$213m, +14.9%), CCB (+$201m, +13.5%), ICBC (+$172m, +20.3%), and Techtronic (+$126m, +16.7%). The largest short covers over the past week were in HSTECH ETF (-$164m, -88.6%), Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology (-$115m, -19.0%), Akeso (-$113m, -11.2%), and Zijin Gold Intl (-$90m, -29.0%). Over four weeks, CATL led short increases (+$541m, +22.4%) while Zijin Gold Intl saw the largest meaningful single-stock short cover (-$247m, -52.9%).
