Abstract: We analyzed the Hong Kong SFC aggregate short position report as of Apr 17th, covering one-week and four-week changes across HK-listed equities. Aggregate short value increased by $2,147m (+1.6%) week-on-week and by $4,919m (+3.8%) over the preceding four weeks, reflecting a broad build-up in bearish positioning. On the short increase side for the week, Pop Mart Intl (9992 HK) led with +$305m (+11.3%), followed by Lenovo (+$227m, +12.8%), Akeso (+$137m, +15.7%), 3Sbio (+$119m, +40.3%), and China Life (+$115m, +29.3%). On the short cover side, Ping An Insurance saw the largest reduction at -$384m (-4.4%), followed by Alibaba (-$295m, -10.0%), and Zijin Gold Intl (-$85m, -21.6%).
