Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of April 10th. The aggregate short value for equities increased by $2,356m (+1.8%) week-on-week and by $771m (+0.6%) over the preceding four weeks. Among top short increases for the week, Weichai Power (2338 HK) rose +$221m (+42.8%), Techtronic (669 HK) rose +$123m (+18.6%), and YOFC (6869 HK) rose +$115m (+10.9%). On the short cover side, AIA (1299 HK) saw the largest single-stock reduction at -$111m (-6.8%), followed by Innovent Biologics (1801 HK) at -$72m (-11.0%) and HKEx (388 HK) at -$58m (-6.2%). Over the four-week period, YOFC (6869 HK) and Weichai Power (2338 HK) were among the standout short builders, rising +$386m (+48.8%) and +$301m (+68.9%) respectively.
