Abstract: We analyzed Hong Kong stock buyback activity for the week ended August 21st, based on HKEx daily reports. Total repurchases across 33 companies amounted to HKD 2,040 million, up 223.0% from HKD 632 million the prior week, with the number of participating companies rising 83.3% week-on-week. Tencent (700 HK) was the dominant buyer at HKD 1,201.6 million, followed by Kuaishou (1024 HK) at HKD 299.4 million and JD Logistics (2618 HK) at HKD 125.6 million. Notable first-time buyers in the past four weeks include Cowell (1415 HK) at HKD 27 million and Sinopec SEG (2386 HK) at HKD 20 million. Over the trailing 30 days, Link REIT (823 HK) and Xiaomi (1810 HK) also featured prominently with HKD 596.6 million and HKD 499.5 million in repurchases respectively.
