Abstract: We analyzed Hong Kong stock buyback activity for the week ended August 7th, covering repurchases reported via HKEx daily filings. Total buybacks amounted to HKD 509 million across 32 companies, down 21.2% from HKD 646 million the prior week, with the number of participating companies falling 55.6% week-on-week. The top three repurchasers for the week were Xiaomi (1810 HK) at HKD 199.9 million, Link REIT (823 HK) at HKD 150.2 million, and Want Want China (151 HK) at HKD 43.2 million. Over the trailing 30 days, Xiaomi led with HKD 553.0 million, followed by Tencent (700 HK) at HKD 513.4 million and Link REIT at HKD 479.9 million, out of a total HKD 4,952 million repurchased by 157 companies. Notable this week, Dynam Japan (6889 HK) returned to buybacks after a four-week absence, repurchasing HKD 4 million representing 0.54% of its free float.
