Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of July 17th. The aggregate short value for equities decreased by $154m (-0.1%) week-over-week but increased by $2,862m (+2.1%) over the preceding four weeks. The largest short increases over the past week were led by Ntes (9999 HK, +$313m, +24.4%), Ping An (2318 HK, +$307m, +4.2%), and China Resources Land (1109 HK, +$172m, +17.2%). The largest short covers over the past week were Hua Hong Semi (1347 HK, -$470m, -35.1%), Knowledge Atlas (2513 HK, -$416m, -37.7%), and Weichai Power (2338 HK, -$152m, -20.0%). Over four weeks, Hua Hong Semi (-$515m, -37.2%) and Knowledge Atlas (-$827m, -54.6%) also ranked among the top covers, while Minimax (100 HK) saw a notable one-week decline of -$81m (-54.7%).
