Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of Aug 28th. The aggregate short value for equities decreased by $1,804m (-1.2%) week-on-week, though it remains up $2,379m (+1.7%) over the preceding four weeks. On the short-increase side, Yofc (6869 HK) saw the sharpest one-week rise at +$148m (+35.7%), followed by Minimax (100 HK) at +$106m (+23.2%) and Zijin Gold Intl (2259 HK) at +$164m (+10.3%). On the short-cover side, Alibaba (9988 HK) led with -$518m (-15.7%) week-on-week, followed by Wuxi Apptec (2359 HK) at -$274m (-9.5%) and China Resources Land (1109 HK) at -$174m (-13.9%). Over four weeks, Zijin Gold Intl posted the largest short build at +$831m (+89.7%), while China Life (2628 HK) saw the steepest cover at -$410m (-35.2%).
