Abstract: We analyzed the latest HK SFC report for aggregate short positions as of September 18th. The aggregate short value for equities increased by $1,663m (+1.2%) week-over-week but decreased by $6,503m (-4.5%) over the preceding four weeks. The largest short increases over the past week were led by Lenovo (992 HK, +$378m, +8.6%), AIA (1299 HK, +$152m, +14.2%), and HKEx (388 HK, +$141m, +15.9%). The largest short covers over the past week were Knowledge Atlas (2513 HK, -$261m, -33.7%), ABC (1288 HK, -$220m, -28.4%), and China Resources Land (1109 HK, -$120m, -12.4%). Over four weeks, Alibaba (9988 HK, -$644m, -19.5%), Wuxi Apptec (2359 HK, -$547m, -19.0%), and BYD (1211 HK, -$525m, -17.0%) led short covers, while Yofc (6869 HK, +$311m, +75.3%) and Zj Innolight (3308 HK, +$226m, +265.5%) saw the largest short build-ups.
