Abstract: We analyzed ASX short interest as of Jun 26th, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. Aggregated short interest totaled USD 45,075m, down 5.1% from USD 47,480m a week ago, while the ASX200 index declined only 0.7%, indicating short covering outpaced the broader market move. On the increase side, Atlas Arteria (ALX AU) saw short value surge 105.9% to USD 192m (up 8.1x ADT), Aristocrat Leisure (ALL AU) rose 71.7% to USD 307m (up 2.6x ADT), Santos (STO AU) jumped 95.2% to USD 86m, and Computershare (CPU AU) increased 28.5% to USD 167m. On the decrease side, AGL Energy (AGL AU) saw the sharpest ADT-adjusted decline, falling 65.1% to USD 57m (down 7.7x ADT), while BHP (BHP AU) and Rio Tinto (RIO AU) recorded the largest absolute decreases in short value at USD 485m and USD 352m respectively.
