Abstract: We analyzed ASX short interest as of June 19th, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. Aggregate short interest was USD 47,489m, up 0.5% week-on-week, while the ASX200 index rose 0.3%, indicating short interest grew faster than the market. On the increase side, CSL led with short value rising USD 221m (+74.9%), followed by Cochlear (+USD 201m, +74.1%), Aristocrat Leisure (+USD 106m, +144.5%), and Brambles (+USD 89m, +127.9%). Regis Resources saw the sharpest increase in ADT multiple, up 5.0x to 9.0x ADT. On the decrease side, Pilbara Minerals saw the largest short value reduction at -USD 333m (-22.2%), followed by Rio Tinto (-USD 206m, -4.8%) and QBE Insurance (-USD 151m, -54.7%).
