Abstract: We analyzed ASX short interest for stocks with market capitalization of at least USD 100m as of April 17th, with aggregated short interest of USD 44,771m. Short interest increased 4.5% over the past week while the ASX 200 index declined 0.2%, reflecting a broadly bearish shift in sentiment relative to the market. On the increases side, BHP (BHP AU) led by absolute value with a rise of +USD 282m (+12.9%), followed by WiseTech Global (WTC AU) at +USD 179m (+29.4%) and Rio Tinto (RIO AU) at +USD 167m (+5.5%). Amcor (AMC AU) saw the sharpest ADT-multiple increase at +5.13x, with 4Dmedical Ltd (4DX AU) surging +175.4% in short value and adding +1.62x ADT. On the decreases side, Woodside Energy (WDS AU) saw the largest reduction at -USD 160m (-11.1%), with Telstra, Coles, and Telix Pharmaceuticals (TLX AU) also highlighted. Telix Pharmaceuticals remained among the most heavily shorted stocks by shares outstanding at 16.4%.
