Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of September 4th. Aggregate short interest totaled USD 41.2bn, a decrease of 6.3% from USD 43.9bn the prior week, while the TWSE index gained 0.5% over the same period. The largest short covers were in Wiwynn (6669 TT), where short value fell USD 1,196m (52%), Taiwan Cement (1101 TT) at USD 292m (61%), and LARGAN Precision (3008 TT) at USD 291m (19%). Short interest rose most in Wistron (3231 TT) at +USD 217m (19%), Winbond Electronics (2344 TT) at +USD 171m (28%), and MediaTek (2454 TT) at +USD 134m (23%). The most shorted stocks by absolute value were Wistron at USD 1,384m, LARGAN Precision at USD 1,270m, Innolux at USD 1,218m, TSMC at USD 1,216m, and Wiwynn at USD 1,110m.
