Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest for stocks with market capitalization of at least USD 100m as of August 21st, with aggregated short interest of USD 42.3bn, down from USD 44.0bn a week prior. Short interest decreased 4.0% over the week, outpacing the TWSE index decline of 1.3%, reflecting net short covering across the market. The largest weekly increases in short value were in LARGAN Precision (+USD 265m, +24.2%) and MediaTek (+USD 166m, +48.5%). The largest decreases were in Quanta Computer (-USD 496m, -33.3%), Asia Vital Components (-USD 160m, -36.6%), and Evergreen Marine (-USD 108m, -27.1%), with Evergreen Marine also seeing its short-to-ADT ratio fall by 2.3x.
