Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of September 11th, covering an aggregate short interest of USD 39.6bn, down 4.0% week-on-week versus a 0.8% decline in the TWSE index, indicating short covering outpaced the broader market selloff. The largest short by value was Wistron (3231 TT) at USD 1,403m, followed by TSMC (2330 TT) at USD 1,238m and Innolux (3481 TT) at USD 1,211m. The biggest weekly increases in short value were Alchip Technologies (3661 TT, +USD 76m, +173%) and Wiwynn (6669 TT, +USD 74m, +6.7%). The largest short reductions were Winbond Electronics (2344 TT, -USD 357m, -46%), LARGAN Precision (3008 TT, -USD 217m, -17%), and Nanya Technology (2408 TT, -USD 197m, -26%). Shin Kong Financial (2888 TT) and Asia Vital Components (3017 TT) also saw notable short decreases of USD 89m (-33%).
