Thailand Short Interest Weekly (May 8th): Krung Thai Bank, PTT E&P, SCC, Thai Union, Bangchak

Abstract: We analyzed short interest data for the Stock Exchange of Thailand as of May 8th, covering stocks with minimum market capitalization of USD100 million and minimum short interest of USD5 million. Aggregate short interest totaled USD3,075 million, down 4.4% from USD3,216 million a week earlier, while the SET50 index gained 1.6% over the same period. The largest decreases in short value were in Krung Thai Bank (KTB TB, -USD40 million, -27.0%), PTT E&P (PTTEP TB, -USD37 million, -16.0%), and SCC (SCC TB, -USD19 million, -13.8%). On the other side, CP ALL (CPALL TB, +USD9 million) and Bangkok Dusit (BDMS TB, +USD5 million) saw the largest weekly increases in short value. By ADT coverage, Bangchak (BCP TB, -0.60x ADT) and Thai Union (TU TB, -0.49x ADT) posted the sharpest weekly declines, while Srisawad (SAWAD TB, +0.19x ADT) led increases.
