Hong Kong Buybacks Weekly (Jun 26th): Tencent, Xiaomi, Guming, Meitu

Abstract: We analyzed Hong Kong Exchange buyback data for the week ended June 26th, covering 141 companies that repurchased a combined HKD 7,120 million in shares, up 83.3% from HKD 3,883 million the prior week. The number of participating companies also rose 34.3% week-on-week. The top three buyback names were Tencent (700 HK) at HKD 2,503.7 million, Xiaomi (1810 HK) at HKD 742.4 million, and Guming (1364 HK) at HKD 692.9 million. Guming and Meitu (1357 HK) were notable as first-time buyers in over four weeks. Over the trailing 30 days, AIA (1299 HK) ranked second with HKD 5,362.7 million in repurchases, behind Tencent's HKD 9,744.5 million.
