Bursa Short Interest Weekly (May 15th): Malayan Banking, IHH Healthcare, Datasonic, Velesto Energy

Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of May 15th. Aggregated short interest was USD 597m, up 6.2% from USD 562m a week ago, while the KLSE index declined 1.7% over the same period. The largest short positions by value were led by Mr D I Y Group M (USD 46m), Axiata (USD 38m), Sime Darby Property (USD 32m), YTL (USD 26m), and Gamuda (USD 24m). The largest weekly increase in short value was Datasonic (up USD 0.78m, +70.1%), while Icon Offshore saw the largest decrease (down USD 0.23m, -43.7%). In ADT-multiple terms, IHH Healthcare saw the sharpest weekly increase (+1.25x ADT), and SP Setia rose +0.94x ADT, while Malayan Banking short interest grew 23.0% in shares, reaching 2.7x ADT.
