Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest data as of Jun 19th, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. Aggregated short interest totaled USD 522m, down from USD 535m a week prior. Short interest decreased 2.4% over the week while the KLSE index rose 1.7%, suggesting modest short covering in a rising market. The largest short increase was Top Glove (TOPG MK), where short value surged USD 6.6m (+23.5%) to USD 34.6m, while Inari Amertron (INRI MK) saw the largest short decrease, falling USD 4.4m (-24.1%) to USD 13.9m. Hartalega (HART MK) also saw short value rise USD 1.1m (+19.7%) to USD 6.9m, while Telekom Malaysia (T MK) and Datasonic (NEXG MK) recorded notable short reductions of USD 1.5m (-22.1%) and USD 0.8m (+70.1% increase in short value) respectively.
