Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest data as of July 3rd, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. Aggregate short interest totaled USD 528m, up from USD 517m a week ago. Short interest increased 2.2% over the week, outpacing the KLSE index gain of 0.7%. On the increase side, MY EG Services (MYEG MK) saw the largest build, with short value rising USD 6.9m (+25.7%) to USD 33.5m, followed by Gamuda (GAM MK) up USD 3.4m (+11.9%) to USD 32.1m, and Datasonic (NEXG MK) up USD 0.78m (+70.1%) to USD 1.9m. On the decrease side, Axiata (AXIATA MK) saw short value fall USD 2.3m (-48.3%) to USD 2.5m, YTL (YTL MK) declined USD 2.2m (-40.9%) to USD 3.2m, and CIMB (CIMB MK) dropped USD 1.7m (-39.6%) to USD 2.6m.
