Bursa Short Interest Weekly (Jul 24th): Press Metal, Frontken, Nestle (Malaysia), United Plantations

Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of Jul 24th. Aggregate short interest stood at USD 1,283m, down 0.4% week-on-week, while the KLSE index fell 1.8% over the same period. The largest short by value was Gamuda (USD 154m), followed by Malayan Banking (USD 107m) and YTL Power International (USD 58m). The biggest weekly increase in short value was Press Metal, up USD 12m (+67.3%), followed by Gamuda (+USD 4.1m) and United Plantations (+USD 3.6m). The largest short cover was Malayan Banking, which saw short value decline by USD 17m (-13.6%).
