Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of June 26th, covering an aggregated short interest of USD 519m. Aggregate short interest was flat week-on-week (0.0% change), while the KLSE index declined 2.6%, indicating shorts did not meaningfully cover despite broad market weakness. On the increase side, MY EG Services led with a USD 3.2m rise in short value (+13.9%), followed by Top Glove (+USD 2.7m, +7.7%), Gamuda (+USD 2.3m, +8.9%), Maxis (+USD 1.5m, +40.1%), and Matrix Concepts (+USD 1.4m, +27.6%). On the decrease side, YTL saw the largest short cover at -USD 2.8m (-34.5%), followed by Sime Darby (-USD 1.8m, -25.0%) and CIMB (-USD 1.8m, -40.0%). By ADT multiple, Matrix Concepts (19.3x) and Maxis (8.7x) recorded the largest week-on-week increases, while QL Resources (-3.13x) and IGB REIT (-2.37x) saw the sharpest declines.
