Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of May 15th. Aggregate short interest was USD 600m, up 6.7% from USD 562m the prior week, while the KLSE index declined 0.4%. On the increases side, Top Glove saw the largest weekly jump in short value, rising USD 9.4m (+65.7%) to USD 23.8m total, followed by Sime Darby Property (+USD 4.6m, +16.5%) and SP Setia (+USD 3.6m, +43.4%). On the decreases side, Public Bank saw the largest short cover, with short value falling USD 4.7m (-46.2%) to USD 5.5m, and Frontken declined USD 3.3m (-23.4%). By absolute short value, Mr D I Y Group led at USD 46m, followed by Axiata at USD 38m and Sime Darby Property at USD 32m.
