Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of April 17th. Aggregate short interest stood at USD 516m, down 1.3% from USD 523m a week ago, while the KLSE index rose 0.2% over the same period. The largest short position by value was Mr D I Y Group (USD 46m), followed by Axiata (USD 37m) and Sime Darby Property (USD 26m). The biggest weekly increases in short value were Frontken (+USD 4.8m, +91%), MY EG Services (+USD 2.6m, +34%), and Axiata (+USD 2.0m, +5.5%). The largest weekly decreases were Public Bank (-USD 4.7m, -46%) and Petronas Chemicals (-USD 4.3m, -38%).
