Abstract: We analyzed Bursa Malaysia short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of April 10th. Aggregate short interest was USD521m, up 1.2% week-on-week, while the KLSE index declined 0.2% over the same period. The largest short position by value was Mr D I Y Group (USD44m), followed by Axiata (USD35m) and Sime Darby Property (USD26m). The biggest increase in short value was Sime Darby Property (up USD1.9m, +8.1%), while Public Bank saw the largest decrease (down USD4.7m, -46.2%), followed by Westports (down USD1.0m, -49.4%) and Datasonic (up USD0.8m, +70.1% week-on-week). By ADT multiple, Mulpha International (31.0x) and Axiata (23.4x) remained the most crowded shorts relative to trading volume.
