Abstract: We analyzed ASX short interest as of August 28th, with aggregate short interest across stocks with market cap above USD 100m totaling USD 50,781m, up 1.1% from USD 50,235m the prior week, outpacing the ASX 200 index gain of 0.4%. On the increase side, Steadfast (SDF AU) saw the sharpest percentage surge, with short value rising 114.3% to USD 117m, and Brambles (BXB AU) short value increased 51.4% to USD 184m, while Transurban (TCL AU) added USD 84m in short value, a 19.9% weekly increase. Worley and Charter Hall also saw notable short interest increases. On the decrease side, Predictive Discovery (PDI AU) saw short value collapse 99.6% to near zero (down USD 113m), and Sonic Healthcare (SHL AU) short value fell USD 94m, a 15.5% decline.
