Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of Apr 24th. Aggregate short interest was USD 34,411m, down 10.0% week-on-week, while the TWSE index rose 5.8% over the same period. The largest short interest decreases were in CTBC Financial (down USD 453m), UMC (down USD 447m), King Yuan Electronics (down USD 423m), Winbond Electronics (down USD 375m), and Fubon Financial (down USD 352m). The largest short interest increases were in Jentech Precision Industrial (up USD 372m), Lotes (up USD 183m), and BizLink (up USD 163m). By absolute short value, the most shorted names were Quanta Computer (USD 985m), UMC (USD 951m), and Wiwynn (USD 946m).
