Thailand Short Interest Weekly (Sep 4th): TMBThanachart Bank, Gulf Energy Development, Amata, SCC

Abstract: We analyzed short interest across the Stock Exchange of Thailand as of September 4th, covering stocks with minimum market capitalization of USD100 million and minimum short interest of USD5 million. Aggregate short interest totaled USD3,150 million, down 1.5% week-on-week, while the SET50 index rose 0.5% over the same period. The largest short covering was in TMBThanachart Bank (TTB TB, down USD25 million or 47.9%) and SCC (SCC TB, down USD17 million or 18.8%), while Gulf Energy Development (GULF TB) saw the largest short build, up USD27 million or 25.6%, and Amata (AMATA TB) rose 44.0%. The most shorted stock by value remains Delta Electronics (DELTA TB) at USD382 million, and Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM TB) leads by ADT multiple at 8.1x.
