Thailand Short Interest Weekly (Sep 25th): Delta Electronics, Minor International, Bangkok Dusit

Abstract: We analyzed short interest data from the Stock Exchange of Thailand as of Sep 25th, covering stocks with minimum market capitalization of USD100 million and minimum short interest of USD5 million, and estimate aggregate short interest of USD3,533m, up from USD3,445m the prior week. Short interest increased 2.6% over the week while the SET50 index gained only 0.7%. The largest absolute increase was Delta Electronics (DELTA TB), where short interest rose USD109m (+20.8%) to USD633m, followed by Gulf Energy Development (GULF TB) (+USD14m, +9.5%) and Advanced Info Service (ADVANC TB) (+USD13m, +8.8%). The largest declines were Bangkok Dusit (BDMS TB) (-USD13m, -10.7%), Minor International (MINT TB) (-USD13m, -12.6%), and Krung Thai Bank (KTB TB) (-USD13m, -9.2%).
