Abstract: We analyzed changes in foreign holdings of KRX stocks as of August 14th, with total foreign holdings across stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m reaching USD 1,642bn, up from USD 1,464bn a week prior. We estimate net foreign flows were inflows of USD 2,253m for the week, with aggregate foreign holdings increasing by USD 178bn (12.1% WoW), outpacing the KOSPI index gain of 11.5%. On the inflow side, SK Hynix led with +USD 1,062m, followed by Samsung Electronics (+USD 905m), SKSQUARE (+USD 377m), HANWHA SOLUTIONS (+USD 189m), and Celltrion (+USD 155m). The largest outflow was Samsung Elec (PREF) at -USD 306m, followed by POSCO (-USD 48m) and CJ CheilJedang (-USD 41m). By total holdings, Samsung Electronics (USD 528bn) and SK Hynix (USD 432bn) remain the two largest foreign-held positions on the exchange.
