Abstract: We analyzed changes in foreign holdings of KRX stocks as of Jul 31st, with total foreign holdings across stocks with market cap above USD100m at USD1,567bn, up from USD1,542bn the prior week. Despite the USD25bn increase in foreign holdings (1.6% WoW), we estimate net foreign flows were outflows of USD5,792m, as the KOSPI index declined 1.4% over the same period. On the outflow side, SK Hynix saw the largest weekly foreign selling at -USD3,427m, followed by Samsung Electronics at -USD1,979m, SamsungElecMech at -USD332m, SKTelecom at -USD180m, and KB Financial at -USD117m. On the inflow side, SKSQUARE led weekly buyers at +USD322m, followed by Hanwha at +USD201m, Samsung Elec (PREF) at +USD143m, DaeduckElectronics at +USD92m, and JEL at +USD80m. We also tabulate league tables for top foreign holding changes over 1W, 4W, and 1Y horizons, and the top stocks held by foreign institutions.
