Abstract: We analyzed changes in foreign holdings of KRX stocks as of August 7th, with total foreign holdings at USD1,463.9bn for stocks with market cap of at least USD100m. We estimate weekly foreign flows were net inflows of USD548m, while total holdings decreased by USD84bn (5.4% WoW), compared to a KOSPI index decline of 5.1% over the same period. The top weekly inflow was Samsung Electronics (+USD959m), followed by Samsung Elec (PREF) (+USD119m), Celltrion (+USD86m), KIA (+USD85m), and HANWHA AEROSPACE (+USD74m). The largest weekly outflow was SamsungElecMech (-USD520m), followed by SK Hynix (-USD98m), DaeduckElectronics (-USD90m), SIMMTECH (-USD83m), and LG Innotek (-USD77m). By absolute holdings, Samsung Electronics remains the most held stock by foreign investors at USD447bn, followed by SK Hynix at USD375bn.
