Abstract: We analyzed southbound Hong Kong Connect flows for the week ending August 21st, estimating net inflows of USD 768.0 million into Hong Kong stocks by mainland investors, a reversal from outflows of USD 84.5 million two weeks prior, against a -0.7% return for the HSCEI over the same period. Communication Services led sector inflows at USD 750 million, followed by Information Technology at USD 332 million, while Materials saw the largest outflows at USD 411 million. The top inflow stocks were Tencent (USD 966 million), Smic (USD 489 million), Knowledge Atlas (USD 255 million), Minimax (USD 254 million), and Alibaba (USD 154 million). The largest outflows were recorded in Hua Hong Semi (USD 374 million), Meituan (USD 335 million), Lenovo (USD 311 million), Xiaomi (USD 191 million), and Zijin Gold Intl (USD 136 million).
