Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest as of Jun 5th, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. Aggregate short interest stood at USD 48,971m, down 4.6% from USD 51,342m a week prior, while the TWSE index rose 0.8% over the same period. The largest short interest reductions were in UMC (down USD 1,158m), King Yuan Electronics (down USD 443m), ASE Industrial (down USD 378m), Compal Electronics (down USD 286m), and Fubon Financial (down USD 254m). The largest short interest increases were in Quanta Computer (up USD 689m), TSMC (up USD 524m), Realtek Semiconductor (up USD 145m), and Evergreen Marine (up USD 113m). By absolute short value, the most shorted stocks were Quanta Computer (USD 2,419m), Wiwynn (USD 2,038m), Asustek Computer (USD 1,476m), UMC (USD 1,341m), and Innolux (USD 1,291m).
