Abstract: We analyzed JPX margin trading positions as of May 22nd, covering stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m. The aggregated net margin trading position stood at USD 28,591m, up from USD 27,467m the prior week, a 4.1% increase, while the TOPIX 500 rose 0.8% over the same period. Among individual stocks, 947 saw margin loan positions increase and 1,104 saw positions decrease. The largest net long positions were held in Kioxia (285A JP) at USD 3,857m, Advantest (6857 JP) at USD 821m, and SoftBank (9984 JP) at USD 794m. The biggest weekly increases in net margin loans were in Kioxia (+USD 409m), Fujikura (5803 JP) (+USD 309m), and Advantest (+USD 95m), while the largest decreases were in Mitsubishi UFJ Financial (8306 JP) (-USD 116m), SoftBank (-USD 116m), and Tokyo Kiraboshi Financial (7173 JP) (-USD 105m).
