Abstract: We analyzed JPX margin trading positions for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of Aug 7th. The aggregated net margin trading position stood at USD 27,619m, up 2.6% from USD 26,908m a week prior, outpacing the TOPIX 500 index gain of 1.7%. Breadth was positive, with 1,030 stocks seeing margin loan positions increase versus 968 seeing decreases. Among the largest positions, Kioxia (285A JP) led with a net margin loan of USD 3,834m, followed by SoftBank (9984 JP) at USD 1,050m and Fujikura (5803 JP) at USD 724m. On weekly changes, Kioxia saw the largest net increase of USD 318m, while Taiyo Yuden (6976 JP) rose USD 91m and Toyota Motor (7203 JP) added USD 56m. On the sell side, Tokyo Electron (8035 JP) saw the steepest weekly decline of USD 86m, followed by SoftBank at USD 74m and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (7011 JP) at USD 52m.
