Abstract: We analyzed the earnings revisions of HSI component stocks for April 2026, estimating the index's 2026E EPS at HK$2,221 as of end-April, up 0.58% from HK$2,208 in March. The HSI rose 4.8% over the month (24,788 to 25,978), with 40 stocks seeing upward EPS revisions versus 29 downward, and individual stock EPS revisions contributing HK$13.4 in aggregate to the index EPS change. The largest positive contributors to index EPS were CNOOC (HK$+4.6), CCB (HK$+2.9), and HSBC (HK$+2.3), while ALIBABA (HK$-2.0) and MEITUAN (HK$-1.3) were the top detractors. At the stock level, MEITUAN posted the largest EPS upgrade (+1,487% MoM on a low base), followed by LI AUTO (+7.80%) and CNOOC (+4.96%), while BYD Electronic (-8.25%), SANDS CHINA (-3.40%), and ALIBABA (-2.99%) recorded the steepest cuts.
