Abstract: We analyzed southbound Hong Kong Connect flows for the week ending July 31st, estimating net outflows of USD 1,261.6 million from Hong Kong stocks by mainland investors, against a 3.1% return of the HSCEI over the same period. This represented a reversal from inflows of USD 295.2 million two weeks prior. By sector, Information Technology led outflows at USD 1,415 million, while Materials attracted the largest inflows at USD 483 million. The top outflow stocks were Alibaba (USD 521 million), Smic (USD 517 million), Xiaomi (USD 409 million), Yofc (USD 249 million), and Kingboard Holdings (USD 189 million). The top inflow stocks were Knowledge Atlas (USD 262 million), CCB (USD 134 million), J&T Express (USD 118 million), China Hongqiao (USD 116 million), and China Mobile (USD 116 million).
