Abstract: We analyzed changes in short interest for ASX stocks as of Oct 30th, with aggregated short interest of USD53.8bn across names with market cap of at least USD100m. Short interest increased by 2.1% over the week while the ASX200 index rose by 1.3%, indicating short positioning grew faster than the market advanced. Steadfast led the gainers in short value as a multiple of ADT, up 7.4x to 16.5x ADT as short value rose 80.8% to US$201m. Challenger's short value rose 236.2% to US$56m, and Nextdc's short value increased 27.5% to US$349m, up 5.3x ADT to 29.3x. Qantas Airways and Mineral Resources also saw notable short interest changes highlighted in the report.
