Abstract: We analyzed A-share margin trading positions for stocks with market capitalization of at least USD 500m as of April 30th, finding an aggregated net margin trading position of USD 369,738m across the eligible universe. The net margin position increased by 0.2% week-on-week, underperforming the CSI 300 index which rose 0.8% over the same period. On balance, 1,276 stocks saw margin loan positions increase while 1,904 stocks saw positions decrease. Among the largest net outflows, CAMBRICON (688256 CH) led with a weekly decrease of USD 214m in net margin loans despite a 25.7% price gain, followed by VeriSilicon (688521 CH) at -USD 98m (+22.8%), CSSC (600150 CH) at -USD 88m, and ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308 CH) at -USD 86m. On the inflow side, ZHEJIANG CENTURY HUATONG (002602 CH) posted the largest weekly increase at +USD 89m, followed by PING AN INSURANCE (601318 CH) at +USD 85m and FOXCONN INDUSTRIAL INTERNET (601138 CH) at +USD 76m.
