Abstract: We analyzed changes in foreign holdings of TWSE stocks as of Aug 7th, with total foreign holdings reaching USD2,147bn, up from USD2,114bn a week prior. We estimate weekly foreign flows were net inflows of USD3,263m, with foreign holdings rising 1.6% WoW while the TWSE index gained 2.6%. The top weekly inflow recipients were Quanta Computer (+USD2,141m), Nanya Technology (+USD745m), Wistron (+USD486m), Hon Hai Precision (+USD481m), and Lite-On Technology (+USD458m). On the outflow side, TSMC saw the largest weekly foreign selling at -USD743m, followed by UMC (-USD398m) and Yageo (-USD389m). TSMC remains the most widely held stock by foreign investors at USD1,318bn, despite consistent outflows of -USD73,148m over the past year.
