MS-Australia Index Earning Revision (Apr): Lynas Rare Earths, National Australia Bank, BHP, Westpac

Abstract: We analyzed EPS revisions for MS-Australia index constituents in April 2026, with the index rising 1.9% from 1,674 to 1,707. The index's 2026E EPS estimate increased 48% month on month to A$92.47 from A$62.63, though individual stock EPS revisions contributed a net -A$0.898 to index EPS, with 10 stocks revised up versus 31 revised down. On EPS revision, the top gainers were Woodside Energy (+28.7%) and Washington H Soul Pattinson (+11.6%), while the top decliners were Transurban (-28.0%), Lynas Rare Earths (-19.4%), Qantas Airways (-11.5%), National Australia Bank (-10.3%), and Evolution Mining (-7.74%). By index EPS impact, BHP contributed the largest positive attribution at +A$4.9, followed by Woodside Energy (+A$2.0) and Westpac (+A$1.9). On revenue, Woodside Energy led with a +6.99% increase, while Stockland saw the sharpest decline at -14.0%.
