Abstract: We analyzed KRX short interest for stocks with market capitalization of at least USD 100m as of September 18th, with aggregate short interest at USD18,119m. Short interest decreased 3.4% over the week, a larger decline than the KOSPI index which fell 0.2%. Among weekly increases in short value, SK Hynix led with short value rising USD70m (+230%), followed by DB HiTek (+USD48m, +59%) and JEL (+USD34m, +13%). On the decrease side, Hyundai Motor saw the largest reduction at -USD134m (-13%), followed by Samsung Elec (PREF) at -USD66m (-20%) and SIMMTECH at -USD28m (-39%).
