Abstract: We analyzed KRX short interest as of September 11th, covering stocks with market capitalization of at least USD100m. Aggregate short interest stood at USD18,760m, up 0.7% week-on-week from USD18,627m. Short interest grew modestly relative to the broader market, as the KOSPI index rose 3.3% over the same period. The largest increase in short value was in Hanmi Semi (+USD210m, +22.5% to USD1,144m total), followed by KEPCO E&C (+USD73m, +122.5%), DB HiTek (+USD69m, +529%), and WONIK IPS (+USD48m, +54%). The largest decrease was in SK Hynix, where short value fell USD478m (-94%) to just USD30m.
