Abstract: We analyzed JPX margin trading positions for stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of September 11th, with the aggregated net margin trading position at USD 30,193m, up from USD 28,745m the prior week. The net margin position increased 5.0% week-on-week while the TOPIX 500 index declined 1.8%, with 1,161 stocks seeing margin loan increases versus 831 seeing decreases. On the long side, Kioxia (285A JP) led with a net position of USD 4,661m and a weekly increase of USD 262m, followed by Advantest (6857 JP, +USD 143m) and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial (8306 JP, +USD 135m, net position USD 822m). The largest weekly reduction was in SoftBank (9984 JP), where the net margin loan position fell USD 236m to USD 985m despite a 22.0% price gain. Lintec (7966 JP) stood out on an ADT-relative basis, with its net margin position rising 13x ADT week-on-week to 6.4x ADT.
