A-share Margin Trading Weekly (Jul 24th): PING AN INSURANCE, EAST MONEY INFORMATION, ZTE, MONTAGE

Abstract: We analyzed A-share margin trading positions for stocks with market cap of at least USD 500m as of Jul 24th, covering 3,035 stocks with an aggregated net margin trading position of USD 364,422m. The aggregate position decreased 4.4% week-on-week, contrasting with a 2.7% gain in the CSI 300 index, with 1,400 stocks seeing margin loan increases and 1,635 seeing decreases. On the long side, Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing led weekly inflows with a position increase of USD 238m (+16.9%), followed by CIG Shanghai (+USD 113m, +22.4%) and Yuanjie Semi (+USD 101m, +25.8%), while ZTE added USD 67m (+9.3%). On the short side, Montage saw the largest weekly outflow at -USD 597m (-21.6%), followed by Ping An Insurance (-USD 486m, -8.4%) and Zhongji Innolight (-USD 372m, +0.1% price); by ADT multiple, Ping An Insurance's position fell by 0.90x while Qingdao Huicheng Environmental Technology dropped 0.83x despite a 55.0% price gain over the week.
